Autobiography
You can produce an autobiography in your own words - and leave the writing to me. You can describe the world you're living in, how you're making things happen and the kind of person you are.
It's much more absorbing than having your portrait painted. Is it egotistical? No more so than keeping a diary. And if you never have kept a diary, how is anyone a hundred years from now going to hear your side of the story?
You may have tried to write, and realized it's not going well. Or maybe you've already talked into a tape recorder. But the results are oddly dull...
My skill as a ghost-writer is what makes the difference between a transcript and a good read. I write in your 'voice' without exaggerating your views or adding anything you didn't say.
I interview you at length, and write the book, and after that, it's up to you to distribute copies to your family and friends. You can commission printers and binders to produce hundreds of paperbacks illustrated with photographs, or just ten volumes on acid-free paper bound in hand-tooled leather. Or if you feel you've been rather too frank, you can lock the manuscript in a safe.
I don't desert you once the manuscript is finished. We can discuss the outcome you want, and I will work with you in the production process if you would like me to. But I urge you to avoid vanity publishers, who design, print and promise to market thousands of copies at your expense. If people would buy your book in Borders or Waterstones, then please try to interest a regular publisher.
